When most people think of computer applications for their family they think of social apps, media apps, or even mobile apps. The truth is there are apps that are far more important than any of these. When you are driving in a car, shopping in a mall or going on vacation nothing could be more important than protecting your family. This same idea should go into the world of the PC. The difference between a safe computer and an open one could be an empty bank account or your kid’s personal information being thrown on to the net. That’s why I want too share my ten favorite security apps.

1. Defensio for Facebook- Facebook is popular and fun, but it also is full of malicious links. This app alerts you and stops these threats before they cause any harm.
2. Password Safe- This is an all-in-one password keeper. Most people keep just one or two passwords. This can be very dangerous. With Password safe, this vulnerability is eliminated.
3. Microsoft Security Essentials- This amazing utility combines antivirus, antispyware, and firewall protection. This is a perfect way to start off securing you family PC.
4. Panda USB Vaccine- Your son’s friend comes over with some exciting new rock video to show your son. He pops in his USB flash drive, rocks it out with his new music video and throws in some malware for the party. This app neutralizes common USB threats. 5. Secunia Personal Software Inspector- This wonderful app protects you by searching for every security patch for every program on your PC.
6. Net Nanny Parental Control- This great application is like a force field for your children’s little minds. It acts as an adult content filter and is at the top of its kind, while still being affordable.
7. Safe Browser- This is an on the go app to protect your kids, offering parental control for your ipad or iphone.
8. Fooducate- This amazing app actually allows you to scan the barcode in order to see what your kids are really ingesting.
9. Track and Report- This handy app gives you great tools to track a lost phone such as listening to surrounding audio, capturing a photo or just finding its current location
10. AVG- this virus protection may be very simple but it is also very current and very effective.
